Our Curriculum Menu

Our curriculum is created and developed by the owner of Curiosity Villa Learning Center through her own creative ideas, educational experience, science background, and extensive research and study. The curriculum is thoughtfully designed using a combination of original lesson planning, hands-on learning concepts, and inspiration gained from researching, studying, and subscribing to various preschool STEM and faith-based educational curricula. The program is customized to support children’s academic, creative, social, and spiritual development through engaging and developmentally appropriate learning experiences.

We recognize that every child is uniquely created by God with individual gifts, interests, and abilities. Through child-directed learning, we encourage children to explore the world around them at their own pace while teachers thoughtfully guide and enrich each experience. By following children’s natural curiosity, we help foster a lifelong love of learning.

Our classroom is designed to be engaging, interactive environments where children learn by doing. Whether building structures, experimenting with nature, creating art, solving problems, reading stories, or exploring early technology tools, children actively participate in hands-on experiences that develop critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and independence.

Grounded in a Biblical worldview, we seek to nurture the whole child — academically, socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Biblical values such as faith, self-control, kindness, honesty, compassion, respect, gratitude, and stewardship are woven throughout daily activities and interactions. We believe children thrive when they understand they are deeply loved by God and created in the image of God with a purpose.

Our goal is to provide a safe, joyful, and Christ-centered learning environment where children are encouraged to ask questions, discover their strengths, build meaningful relationships, and grow into confident learners and compassionate individuals.

At Curiosity Villa Learning Center, we believe children learn best through purposeful play, meaningful relationships, and hands-on discovery. Our curriculum is built around a play-based S.T.R.E.A.M. educational approach — integrating Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics into everyday learning experiences that inspire curiosity, creativity, and confidence.

What is Play-Based STREAM?
Service title 3

You may already know STEM, but STREAM includes Reading- everything from listening, understanding, speaking, communicating, writing, literacy, vocabulary and the Arts—everything from music and movement to drama and visual arts—adding creativity to the core of learning.

But play-based STREAM is more than just adding an art project or reading a story. It’s about harnessing the power of play to inspire hands-on exploration, encouraging children to discover, experiment, and engage with STREAM concepts in a fun and meaningful way.

Why Play-Based STREAM Matters

Play-based STREAM helps children learn by doing—through self-directed play. It encourages them to ask questions, investigate, and think critically while developing problem-solving skills. It’s a natural way to spark creativity and foster a lifelong love of learning.

Here’s how our Play-Based curriculum works

Play Prep (Invite play)

Our staff sets the stage for discovery. We prepare the learning environment with materials that invite curiosity. Whether it’s blocks for building, art supplies for creating, or microscope for exploring, Play Prep ensures children are ready to dive into play-based STREAM activities.

Play Magic (Observe Wonder)

This is where the fun begins. We let the children lead as they explore and experiment. Through open-ended play, they’ll investigate, ask questions, and experiment with STREAM concepts. Our role as adults is to observe and encourage their creativity without interrupting their natural flow of discovery.

5-Star Play (Extend STREAM)

This is where learning deepens. After observing the children’s play during Play Magic, our staff guide them by introducing more structured activities or challenges based on what they’re already exploring. This step builds on their natural curiosity, tying the play experience to STREAM concepts like creativity, critical thinking, communication, problem solving and collaboration.
